Your Privacy Matters

We believe that a simple utility like Settlify should not compromise your privacy. That's why we are not selling any ads and we don't require any excessive permissions. We're here to make a useful product for you and your friends, not sell your data.

What We Collect

No data are collected for web users who join a group via a link. No sign up and no email is required.

The following are collected only for mobile app users (Android/iOS):

Email address: If you create an account in the mobile app, we store your email to prevent abuse (e.g. bots creating groups) and help you recover your account. If you optionally sign in with Google instead, we receive your email address from Google. We do not access any other Google account data.

We may also use your email to send you personal service-related messages, such as onboarding help. No automated emails and no spam. You can opt out at any time by replying to any such email.

Payment app availability: To match group members by their preferred payment method, the mobile app occasionally checks whether Revolut or Twint are installed on your device. We do not access any account information or data from those apps — only their presence is detected and stored on our servers. You can remove this information at any time from your account settings.

What We Don't Collect

  • Any payment information or financial account details. All in-app purchases are handled securely by Google Play Store and Apple App Store. Settlify does not enforce or track how or whether the users settle between them. No money changes hands between members within the app.
  • Tracking or analytics cookies. We do not use any cookies to track your browsing habits or serve ads. We may use essential session cookies solely to keep you signed in — nothing else.
  • Passwords. We use passwordless logins to make it simpler for you and more secure to login.
  • Anything that we don't need really to provide a useful utility.

Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services to operate Settlify. Each acts as a data processor under our instruction and stores data exclusively on EU infrastructure.

  • Supabase — stores your email address and group expense data. See Supabase's privacy policy.
  • Railway — hosts our backend infrastructure for request processing. We explicitly do not log any personal data, including email addresses, on Railway. See Railway's privacy policy.
  • Google — used as an optional sign-in provider. If you choose to sign in with Google, Google processes your authentication and shares only your email address with us. See Google's privacy policy.

How We Protect Your Data

Your data is stored securely in EU servers using industry-standard encryption. We use best in class practices to keep your information safe such as appropriate secret management, authentication and authorization protocols etc.

We don't use third party tools for analytics or marketing purposes. We don't use your data to train AI models or for any purpose other than providing you with the Settlify service.

Data Retention

We keep your data only as long as necessary

  • Your email address is retained while your account is active.
  • Expenses are kept as long as the group exists.
  • When a group is deleted, we retain anonymous metadata about it (such as creation date and number of expenses) for internal bookkeeping.

Your Rights

Under GDPR and other data protection laws, you have the following rights:

  • Right to access: Request a copy of your personal data
  • Right to rectification: Correct inaccurate or incomplete data
  • Right to erasure: Request deletion of your data
  • Right to data portability: Receive your data in a structured, machine-readable format
  • Right to object: Object to processing of your data
  • Right to restrict processing: Request limitation of how we use your data

Account deletion

You can delete your Settlify account and all associated data from the app in the Profile screen. Otherwise you can enter your email below or email us directly at hello@settlify.app.

Other data deletion

You can delete any of the groups you created directly from the app. For any other data deletion requests, please email us at hello@settlify.app.
